My art has been a progression from crafting and sewing as a teenager, to store window design as a young adult, to watercolors and acrylics. Along the way, I have experimented with pastels and enamels as well. 

 

My inspiration comes from my family, Portuguese Water Dogs, my travels, my love of the beach and water, nature and seasons. I constantly try to challenge myself with difficult subject matter and/or new techniques. Sometimes the inspiration can be contrasting light, trying to exhibit texture or dimension, or just trying a new technique.

 

Although I love the flow and softness of watercolors, I find the speed and ability to correct in acrylic very appealing. I love teaching all ages, especially pour painting to people who think they aren’t artistic. Seeing them create something they are proud of is a thrill. I teach at Art Leagues, local Libraries and my neighborhood.

 

I am a Signature Member of the Delaware Watercolor Society and a member of the Rehoboth Art League and the Art League of Ocean City.
