ARTIST’S STATEMENT

For me, art is about seeing and capturing the everyday and ordinary in a special way to create mood, interest, and reflection. Compositions should be strong, have movement and balance, interesting color, and shapes so the content speaks for itself and brings the viewer to the painting through an individual and personal response.  I approach writing in a similar way through descriptive scenes, engaging dialogue and realistic characters. I want the story to speak for itself and allow the reader to become totally immersed in the action and setting.
